How to convert DVD Video to VCD (video CD)

I. Download and Install Process

1. Xing DVD Player 2.0.3 Full & All Bug Fixes
2. DVD Rip 1.04
3. Sonic Foundry Soft Encode 1.0
4. Womble Multimedia Mpeg2Vcr 3.00
5. VCDCutter 4.01
6. VobSnoopy

I put VobSnoopy for those that aleady have the vob file on their HD and have to split Video an Audio with it and continue with step III.
The Install Password is : VOBS-12137
Install all these software
A multiplexor it's include in MPEG2VCR Software
Anyway i put DVMPEG 5.01 Full Retail Version that can Multiplex Wav and Mpeg and you can also capture with Powerriper 1.6 directly on Mpeg but I don't try it yet!

II. Ripping Process

Launch DVDRip.
In the launch section write the location of Xing DVD Player
Select separate file Video/Audio
Launch the DVD Video in Xing DVD Player by clicking on Launch
Open the DVD Video
Start the Movie and Click start on DVDRip
At the end of the movie you will get two file
The Audio
The Video

III. Conversion Process

To convert the audio file from ac3 to wav use SoftEncode
Open the file in sofencode
Choose Save as in the File menu and select wav format

To convert the video file from mpeg2 to mpeg1 video only
Open the file in MpegVcr
Choose the record button on the open window(the record button is a little red circle in the movie windows)
Click the video button
Choose MPEG 1
Change width and height to 352 x 288
Change bitrate to 1152000
Change gop to 12
Click OK
Choose the VBS mpeg format
Give a filename
Click OK

IV. Multiplexing Process

Now you have a wav file and a m2v file
Open the multiplexer select the audio file select the video file
and give a new name to the Mpeg1 file !

V. Cutting Process

Cut the Mpeg1
Launch VCD Cutter open the mpeg1 file
Cut it in about 1 hours
You will get two file of ~650 megs that you can burn on cdr!!!

VI. Burning Process

Now you can burn the files on two cdr!
To create good VCD use Video CD Creator included in Adaptec Easy CD Creator
If you want to make a Video CD with dat extension use MPG2DAT
